Neuro-Affirming Evaluations

Enhanced ADHD and Autism Evaluations and Beyond

Do you or your child have quirks, personality characteristics, strengths, or weakness that call for more attention?

Are there relationship struggles, school challenges, or work issues you want to improve?

A comprehensive Neuro-Affirming Evaluation could be the answer!

  • “Neuro” refers to the nervous system. In this evaluation, I will assess how your nervous system has developed over your lifespan. I will do this using an array of assessment tools that have been developed and tested by professionals. You will complete some of these assessments on your own at home and some together in the office. My job is to be impeccable and thorough, so that you get the best treatment possible.

“Neuro-Affirming” means that you are worthy of care and success, no matter what your nervous system looks like. This evaluation avoids deficit-based language and instead focuses on strengths, needs, and accommodations to help you thrive.

  • Common issues that bring people to evaluations include:

    • Behavioral issues

    • Learning challenges

    • Emotional concerns (anxiety, depression)

    • Difficult to parent children who don’t respond to typical interventions

    • Atypical developmental trajectory (not meeting milestones on time or meeting them early)

    • Socializing problems

    • Sensory issues

    • Relationship issues

    • Self-esteem issues

    • Poor organizational skills

    • Difficulty doing adult tasks (getting to work on time, planning meals, etc.)

    • States of intense focus or lack of motivation

    • Having a family history of ADHD/Autism

Wondering if you have ADHD or Autism is a typical reason people seek out evaluation.

  • Mental health diagnosis comes out of an outdated psychology system that tends to pathologize people or make them seem flawed. I believe in reclaiming diagnosis as an empowering and liberating tool.

You can use diagnosis to your advantage. A diagnosis can sharpen your awareness about who you are. It can add detailed information or give you a new perspective. For many people, diagnosis can make a life-changing difference. It can help you access services and supports, and it can help other people understand you better.

  • You can experience healing through the process of evaluation. Talking through the details of your life with a caring professional can bring out understanding and hope.

You will also receive a formal, written report when the evaluation is complete. You can use this report, depending on the results, to access school resources, accommodations, and support services. Your report can be shared with doctors, prescribers, and academic advisors. The report will have forward-thinking recommendations as well as specific referrals.

  • The total evaluation fee is $2,300. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due at the initial intake appointment and will be applied to your final payment. The outstanding balance is due on testing day. After services are rendered, I can provide you with a superbill for insurance reimbursement. All plans vary in what they cover.
